The FABRIK
has been in existence for 35 years and during this time it has
made a name for itself as a place with innovative demands and
a particular atmosphere: whether rock-, jazz- classic-, theatre
productions , readings, political events or anything like that
- by its unique architecture each event is surrounded by an

Fancy-free children- and youth work

Yes, just very few know that it exists although it is part
of the regular programme of the FABRIK since its foundation:
The fancy-free and creative leisure work for kids and teenagers
of the district Altona/Ottensen. Apart from the cultural work
it is the main starting-point of the target of the FABRIK
to support creativity, communication, the initiative of one's
own and self-confidence of the visitors.
The FABRIK at the Barnerstraße in Altona is regarded
as the first and probably the most well-known centre of communication
in Germany.
It was founded in 1971 by two private persons in a building
of a former machine factory of around 150 years. Underneath
its high roof made of glass the most different forms of culture
are unified.
Children,- and youth work, pedagogy and politics, readings
and discussions, theatre and concerts of any kind - it is
the demands on their work.

The FABRIK is the appropriate location for any kind of events
for up to 1200 guests.
